1. *Loi sur le ministère des Affaires indiennes et du Nord canadien*. 2. (1) There is hereby established a department of the Government of Canada called the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development over which the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development appointed by commission under the Great Seal shall preside.

The Minister holds office during pleasure and has the management and direction of the Department. R.S., c. I-7, s. 2.

(2) 3. The Governor in Council may appoint an officer called the Deputy Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development to hold office during pleasure and to be the deputy head of the Department.

5. Le ministre s’acquitte des fonctions suivantes : 6. (1) The Minister has the administration of all lands situated in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut belonging to Her Majesty in right of Canada except those lands

(a) that are under the administration of any other minister of the Government of Canada or any agent corporation as defined in subsection 83(1) of the Financial Administration Act, or (b) that are under the administration and control of the Commissioner of the Northwest Territories pursuant to the Northwest Territories Act or the Commissioner of Nunavut pursuant to the Nunavut Act.

6. The Minister has the administration of all public real property, within the meaning of section 2 of the Yukon Act, that is not under the administration and control of the Commissioner of Yukon under that Act or under the administration of another minister of the Government of Canada or any agent corporation as defined in subsection 83(1) of the Financial Administration Act. (2) 7. The Minister shall, on or before January 31 next following the end of each fiscal year or,
