AN ACT further to amend the Land Acquisition Act, 1894

ISLAMABAD, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7, 2017 Islamabad, the 5th June, 2017 No. F. 23(12)/2016-Legis.—The following Act of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) received the assent of the President on the 2nd June, 2017 is hereby published for general information:— ACT No. XXIII OF 2017.

WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (I of 1894), in its application to such areas in the Federation as are not included in any Province for the purposes hereinafter appearing: It is hereby enacted as follows:— (639) Price: Rs. 2.00 [809(2017)/Ex. 1. Short title and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Land Acquisition (Amendment) Act, 2017.

It shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of section 4, Act I of 1894.—In the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (I of 1894), in section 4, in sub-section (2), in the proviso, for the full stop, occurring at the end, a colon shall be substituted and thereafter the following second proviso shall be inserted, namely:—

"Provided further that entire process of land acquisition shall be completed within a period of one year failing which the notification made under sub-section (1) shall stand revoked.".
